Howdy, folks! I’ve submitted to around 20 agents so far. Whew! What a rush! My query letters have been getting better, more engaging, I hope. It’s going to be a long, hard road, even if I do get selected to go before a publisher’s desk. Wish me luck!
In the meantime, I’ve also been working on a scifi novel for adults. Blending bits of Star Trek with Doctor Who, Homer’s Odyssey, and the Bible, There and Back Again: A Cosmic Odyssey is the story of a man named Paul and his fantastical voyages across universes of space and time. Lots of big, big stuff here, though the book is shaping up to be a little short at the moment. It should be good-natured fun, with plenty of shock and awe and horror and adventure. That’s what I do, after all. Pulse-pounding tales of high adventure.
Meanwhile in Fantasyland, I should start hearing back from agents around March of next year, at the absolute earliest. Maybe February, if the folks I’ve submitted to aren’t too busy. Exciting! Looking forward to the rejections and, let’s hope, at least one acceptance.
